Alberta's Wild Horses - what an interesting experience. We were lucky to come across a large herd in a meadow which was a photographer's dream. What I noticed more than anything is how well they got along. The horses that I visited in Utah were continuously fighting and while there were some disagreements with these horses, it was nothing compared to Utah. 

With a larger herd you could still see the small families within. 

Some had large scars, many had lots of small scars and of course leg injuries. Overall though they seemed pretty healthy. They must be awfully tough though to survive the winters.
